The former Spice Girl Melanie C was expected to have a very high entry as well with her new single “Anymore”, but the track wasn’t released in the german speaking countries yet, otherwise there would have been a chance for a whole new Top3. Closing the Top3 is Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj’s “Side To Side” (1-3). The singer already got a big hit earlier this year with “Cheap Thrills”, which debuted at #2 as well, while the featured Kendrick Lamar never got such a high peaking entry so far. Her closest rival surprise released a new single just shortly before Lady GaGa, and was actually a bigger competition than expected – Sia! The Australian songstress debuts at #2 with the new track “The Greatest”, which seems to be the lead single of an upcoming album called “We Are Your Children”. That may be a great debut compared to all other entries this year, but it’s much less than the plays for her last lead single “Applause”, which got 151 plays in its first week (with only two days availability) and an astonishing 277 plays in its first full length week. The track got a bit more than 100 plays since its release last friday, making it already one of 38 songs that were played a hundred times in 2016 so far. The song immediately debuts at #1 as her 24th chart entry since her debut with “Just Dance” in 2008, and is her 13th chart topper.

Lady GaGa is finally back! It’s been three years since she released her last pop album “ARTPOP” and it seemed like she’s away for way too long, but the pop star finally released her new single “Perfect Illusion” last friday.
